Something not working, a question that seems wrong, or an idea for a set? Email support@loudowl.app. Tell us which set and question, if it’s about one, and what your iPhone shows.

Narration

• No sound: check the speaker button at the top of the Play screen, which mutes and unmutes narration, and your iPhone’s volume.
• A card is read by a different voice: cards without recorded narration, including sets you import, are read by your iPhone’s built-in voice.

Featured sets and playing offline

• Adding a featured set needs an internet connection. Once it’s in your Library, the set and its narration are saved on your iPhone, so you can play without Wi-Fi.
• When a set you’ve added gets new or corrected questions, your Library shows Update available. Tap it to download the new version.

Family accounts

• Loud Owl works without an account. To add children, open Settings and choose Create a family account, which uses Sign in with Apple.
• Your family, PIN, and featured sets follow you to your other iPhones when you sign in there with the same Apple ID.
• Forgot your PIN? Tap Forgot PIN? on the PIN screen and sign in with Apple to choose a new one.
• Delete your account: Settings › Family & account › Account › Delete account. It deletes everything our server holds for your family.

Importing your own sets

In Settings, under Import your own, choose a file or paste a link to one. A question set is a JSON file with a name and a list of questions, each with an answer. Everything else is optional:

A question can also have a category, a difficulty (easy, medium, or hard), and a deepDive to read after the answer. If a file can’t be imported, the app says which question and field to fix. Children see imported sets only when a parent turns on Show imported sets in their profile.

Privacy

Loud Owl has no ads, analytics, or tracking. Our privacy policy explains what’s saved and the choices parents have.
